JETHRO talks TANK on the JUDI SPIERS SHOW, BBC RADIO DEVON
On Tuesday 14th December, 2022, the West Country and the World lost one of the best story tellers and comedians that it has ever seen.
JETHRO (Geoffrey Rowe) passed away, but left us with an incredible legacy of fun and laughter that will last forever.
Many years ago, I had the honour of being asked to work with him at his club in Lewdown. It was just a 30 minute warm-up spot, but I was overcome with happiness – and fear – and every other feelings known to man, all mixed together.
I remember his words as I was just about to walk on stage.
“Tank, no F words or bad language, 30 minutes only, now go and enjoy yourself. Good Boy”
And that started off our friendship. I have worked alongside the great man many times over the years, always listening to his words of advice.
One of my favourite things was to sit down and talk comedy with him, where he would suggest little tears to my own stories.
Thank you Geoff. You will be in my heart forever XXXXXXX
JETHRO appeared on BBC Radio Devon many times, being interviewed by the love Judi Spiers. The following clip is one that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
As a comedian, I’m not the best and I’m not the worst. But give me an audience that wants to be entertained and I am bloody hard to beat !!!
